Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls is a coalition of concerned citizens in the Morgantown area who oppose Planned Parenthood because it promotes abortion and endangers minor girls by opposing parental involvement and pushing unhealthy sexual education. We seek 1) to educate concerning the harmful work that Planned Parenthood does; 2) to direct our patronage away from organizations and businesses that facilitate Planned Parenthood’s entry into our community; and 3) to picket peacefully and legally should Planned Parenthood succeed in building or renting a clinic.1

Breaking News About Planned Parenthood and Child Sex Abuse!

Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls has obtained copies of tapes of Planned Parenthood clinics telling a caller that they would not report an abusive relationship.

The tapes, recorded by Life Dynamics Inc. as part of its investigation of every Planned Parenthood clinic in the country, had a caller present herself as a 13-year-old girl in a relationship with a 22-year-old man--clearly a case of statutory rape, as well as an exploitative and abusive relationship.

You can listen to tapes from the Vienna, W.V. clinic, now run by Planned Parenthood Health Systems (PPHS), as well as tapes from two other clinics in North Carolina also run by PPHS. This is the affiliate that would like to open a Planned Parenthood clinic in Morgantown!

Vienna, W.V. clinic            Raleigh, N.C. clinic           Winston-Salem, N.C. clinic

Planned Parenthood representative Chris Hollis just said in the January 31 Dominion Post that "Planned Parenthood Health Systems certainly would report any case of statutory rape, rape or incest. Without a doubt, at any level."

Where is the proof? Planned Parenthood Health Systems is either misleading us or it can produce numbers of its reports of suspected cases of child abuse and statutory rape. The burden of proof is on PPHS!

Nearly 70% of all teen pregnancies are fathered by an adult male and are cases of statutory rape. Planned Parenthood should be reporting a high percentage of all the cases of pregnant girls in its clinics.

Here you can hear another Planned Parenthood clinic in North Carolina (not part of PPHS) coach the caller on how to avoid mentioning her "boyfriend's" age to either a judge or inside the clinic itself. The clinic worker describes Planned Parenthood's approach to reporting such cases of statutory rape as "don't ask, don't tell".

Durham, N.C.

Is this Planned Parenthood Health Systems' policy also? Only the numbers of reports can tell us the truth.

Here is the history of our group.

According to Planned Parenthood, Morgantown needs an abortion clinic. Do you agree?

Here is an important update on Planned Parenthood's activities in our community. On June 25, a regional CEO from the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) held an informational meeting in Morgantown. Its purpose: to announce a "feasibility study" to investigate the possibility of bringing a Planned Parenthood clinic into our area.

This is the Planned Parenthood that is the nation's largest performer of abortions: almost 245,000 of the 1.3 million abortions in our country in 2003. That's almost 20%!

This is the same organization that promotes explicit and degrading sexual education from kindergarten through high school. (And CEO Walter Klausmeier promised that PPFA would attempt to get into local schools.)

This is the Planned Parenthood that opposes all parental-consent and parental-notification laws for minor girls considering abortion.

And this is the Planned Parenthood that is currently being investigated in three states for refusing to report potential cases of statutory rape and child abuse-even though all fifty states require health-care workers to report any suspicions of such activity.

Our contention is that Planned Parenthood hurts girls in its irresponsible promotion of sexual activity by minors, which can make girls vulnerable to abuse. In any case, Planned Parenthood promotes a view of human sexuality in which sex is separated from faithful love and fruitfulness. No one suffers more from bad sex than girls. And, of course, it hurts girls by subjecting them to the violence of abortion, which is used to "take care" of the inevitable pregnancies that occur as the result of Planned Parenthood's sexual philosophy.

A new group, Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls, has arisen to fight this monster. We have a small window of opportunity to keep Planned Parenthood out of the Morgantown area! We know that women and girls from all over north-central West Virginia would come to a clinic in Morgantown. We would all be affected. But if we can demonstrate substantial popular opposition to this clinic, we can keep them out!

Join us in our educational efforts! Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls is planning to run an ad featuring the names of those who oppose this clinic. We need to have as much community support for this effort as possible. Our deadline for gathering names and donations is August 21. Any individual, organization, or business that contributes $100 or more will get a free copy of the book, Margaret Sanger's Eugenic Legacy.

Click here for our August 11, 2005 press release.

  1. It should be obvious that our name is intended to communicate a message of opposition to Planned Parenthood. In the extremely unlikely case that someone might be confused about what we stand for, let us be crystal-clear: Planned Parenthood Hurts Girls is, of course, in no way affiliated with the Planned Parenthood Federation of America!

  3. It should be noted that the author Angela Franks does not profit from PPHG's purchase of these books as thank-you gifts. We have purchased the books from another non-profit organization which has already bought copies of the book in bulk at a discount. Because of this, we can afford to purchase the books from the non-profit and to give them to generous donors as a thank-you. She receives no royalties from our purchase or from your donation.
